Running
It's Time to Start
Runners have the possibility to participate 3 times per week: on Monday evening, Wednesday evening and Saturday morning (see also “Locations & Schedules”), while we offer stretching and strength training on Thursday evenings.
Diversified members in terms of background, fitness level and age range
Certified trainers, and assistant trainers to support & guide you all the way
Different groups for different goals and fitness level
Unique training style
At Clingendael Run & Walk we have adopted a unique training system, where runners can create their own programme, with the help of a qualified trainer. Each running session will in principle consist of several workshops from which you can choose. The workshops are adapted to the skills and qualities of each individual runner. Moreover, the relevant trainer(s) will carefully evaluate progress but also problems.
Additionally, we have workshops especially for runners who try to come back after an injury or who want an easy recovery session after a hard training week or a running event. This session is also suitable for runners with little or no running experience.
Progress measurement
We regularly measure the progress of the runners, through e.g. a test-run, a Cooper-test or at the beginning of an interval-training. The aim of these tests is manifold: to establish if the runner is still on track to meet his/her goal, to adjust the training programme(s), to coach the runner but also as a general feedback for the runner.
Several of our runners participate at running events, such as the famous City-Pier-Cityloop, where we typically have runners in all the distances. Other popular events are the Rotterdam Marathon, the Dam tot Damloop, the Royal Ten and de Zeven Heuvelenloop.
